As she begins to settle in to her new environment, Yoshika is struck by the awkward atmosphere and distance that Lt. Gertrud Barkhorn puts between herself and Yoshika. It turns out that this distance is due to the fact that Yoshika reminds Trude of her comatose sister, Chris. As the memories of her sister begin to resurface, Trude becomes increasingly unstable, before finally charging the episode's Neuroi antagonist in what can only be described as a suicide attempt. Using her healing magic, however, Yoshika manages to save Trude's life and in doing so gives her the hope she needs.
